Our approach

Clear teaching. Honest numbers. Nothing to sell you.

Charted Money exists to make you a more confident, more capable decision-maker with money. Here's how we build the course to earn your trust.

How every lesson is built

The same four steps, sixty times.

  1. 01

    Explain one decision

Each lesson starts from a real choice you face, and explains the terms and numbers involved in plain English.

  2. 02

Show it with a worked case

An original, fictional Canadian household works through the decision so you can see every step of the arithmetic.

  3. 03

    Let you practise

You repeat the reasoning yourself in an exercise, then answer three checks with explanations for every option.

  4. 04

    Turn it into your plan

The lesson adds one concrete piece to your module workbook, and the workbooks combine into your personal plan.

Our principles

What you can count on.

Independent by design

We don't sell financial products, accept commissions or referral fees, or rank providers. Product examples in the course are deliberately fictional, so you learn to evaluate any offer on its merits.

Sources you can check

Lessons cite 131 sources, and 125 of them are government agencies and regulators such as the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada, the Canada Revenue Agency and provincial securities regulators. Each has a review date. Rules that change, like contribution limits and benefit amounts, are dated or flagged for you to confirm with the official source.

Education, not advice

We teach you how to think through decisions, not what to buy. When a situation calls for a qualified professional (a fee-only planner, an accountant, a lawyer or a non-profit credit counsellor), the course says so and helps you prepare the right questions.

AI with guardrails

The tutor answers from the course material and names the lesson it draws on. It won't pick products for you, reminds you not to share sensitive identifiers, and tells you when to verify something with an official source.

Your information stays yours

Your workbook entries and tool inputs are private to your account. We never sell personal information, and card payments are handled by Stripe, so we never see your full card number.

Honest about limits

Calculators show their assumptions next to every result. Projections are labelled as illustrations, not forecasts, and no lesson promises a credit score, a return or a result.
