Terms of Service
Last updated October 16, 2026
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and Charted Money ("Charted Money", "we", "us"). They apply to chartedmoney.com and chartedmoney.ca (the "Site") and to the Charted Money course, including its lessons, workbooks, planning tools, AI tutor and related materials (together, the "Course"). By creating an account, making a purchase or using the Site, you agree to these Terms.
1.Education, not advice
The Course provides general financial education for people in Canada. It is not financial, investment, tax, legal, accounting or credit counselling advice, and it does not take your personal circumstances into account. We are not acting as your adviser, planner, dealer, broker, fiduciary or credit counsellor.
Examples, people and offers in the Course are fictional. Laws, tax rules, contribution limits, benefit amounts and interest rates change, so verify current information with official sources and consult a qualified professional before acting. You are responsible for your own financial decisions. Our Educational Disclaimer forms part of these Terms.
2.Eligibility and your account
You must have reached the age of majority in your province or territory of residence to purchase the Course. You sign in with your email address, so keep access to your email secure. Your account is for you alone: don't share your access or let others use your account. You are responsible for activity under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, tell us right away at support@chartedmoney.com.
3.Price and payment
The price of the Course is shown on the Site and at checkout in Canadian dollars. Payments are processed by our payment processor, Stripe. If you choose to pay over time with Affirm or Klarna, that financing is provided by them under their own terms, which form a separate agreement between you and that provider.
Your enrollment starts when your payment is confirmed. We may change prices or offer promotions at any time; changes do not affect purchases already completed.
4.Lifetime access
"Lifetime access" means access to the Course for as long as Charted Money offers it, subject to these Terms. We may update, reorganize and improve the Course over time. If we ever stop offering the Course, we will give you at least 60 days' notice by email and a way to download your personal plan and workbook entries.
5.All sales final
All purchases are final and fees are non-refundable, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Before purchasing, you can read the free sample lessons, review the full curriculum and contact us with any questions. If a payment is disputed or reversed, we may suspend access to the Course while the matter is resolved.
6.Your licence and acceptable use
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to access and use the Course for your own non-commercial learning. You may not:
- copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, publish or create derivative works from the Course, other than your own personal plan;
- share your account, sign-in links or Course content with others;
- scrape, crawl or use automated tools to access the Site or Course;
- attempt to bypass access controls, usage limits or security measures;
- use the AI tutor or assistant to create content for redistribution or for any unlawful or harmful purpose; or
- interfere with the operation of the Site.
7.The AI tutor and assistant
The AI tutor and the website assistant use artificial intelligence to generate responses. Responses can be inaccurate or incomplete and are educational, not advice. Do not enter sensitive information such as your social insurance number, account numbers, passwords or full card numbers. We may set reasonable usage limits. We store questions and responses to provide the service, improve it and prevent misuse, as described in our Privacy Policy.
8.Your content
Your workbook entries, tool inputs and questions ("Your Content") remain yours. You allow us to store and process Your Content only to provide the Course to you, keep it secure and improve the service. You are responsible for what you enter, and you may use fictional figures if you prefer.
9.Intellectual property
The Course, the Site and the Charted Money name, logo, text, graphics, tools and software are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Apart from the licence in section 6, no rights are granted to you.
10.Third-party services and links
The Course links to third-party websites, including government and regulator sources. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content. A link or a mention is not an endorsement. Payment and financing providers have their own terms and privacy policies.
11.Availability and changes
We work to keep the Site available and secure, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may change features or content, including to keep the Course accurate and current.
12.Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, the Site and the Course are provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that content is complete, current or free of errors, or that using the Course will produce any particular financial outcome. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
13.Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, for lost profits, savings or data, or for decisions you make using the Course. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site, the Course or these Terms is limited to the amount you paid for the Course. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
14.Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Course at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms, misuse the Site or if the law requires it. Provisions that by their nature should continue (including sections 5, 9, 12, 13 and 15) survive termination.
15.Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Subject to any consumer protection law that gives you the right to bring a claim where you live, the courts of British Columbia have exclusive jurisdiction.
16.Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will tell you by email or on the Site before it takes effect. The version in effect when you purchased applies to that purchase, except for changes required by law or relating to new features.
