Educational disclaimer
Last updated October 16, 2026
Charted Money teaches you how to understand money decisions and work through your own numbers. It is general education for people in Canada. It is not personal financial, investment, tax, legal or credit counselling advice.
No professional relationship
Using the course, its tools or its AI tutor does not create an adviser, planner, fiduciary or client relationship. Charted Money is not registered to give investment advice or to sell securities, insurance, loans or other financial products, and does not do so.
Examples are fictional
People, households, offers and figures in the course are invented to illustrate a concept. They are not recommendations and do not describe any real product or provider.
Rules and figures change
Tax rules, registered account limits, benefit amounts, interest rates and consumer protections change over time and can depend on your province or territory. Sources in the course show the date they were reviewed. Always confirm current details with the official source, such as the Canada Revenue Agency or the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada, before acting.
Calculators are illustrations
The planning tools use simplified, stated assumptions. Results are illustrations to help you compare options, not forecasts, quotes or guarantees. Lenders, investments and governments may calculate amounts differently.
The AI tutor can make mistakes
The AI tutor and website assistant generate answers automatically. They aim to draw on the course material, but they can be wrong or incomplete. Treat their answers as a starting point for your own thinking and verify anything important.
When to get professional help
For decisions with large consequences or complex circumstances, consider a qualified professional: a fee-only financial planner, an accountant or tax professional, a lawyer, or a non-profit credit counsellor. You can check whether an investment adviser is registered through the Canadian Securities Administrators' National Registration Search.
If you are struggling to pay for essentials, a non-profit credit counselling agency can help at little or no cost, and 211 can connect you with local community services. If you are in crisis or thinking about suicide, call or text 9-8-8 at any time.
Independence
Charted Money does not receive payments, commissions or referral fees from financial institutions or product providers. Mentioning an organization or linking to its website is not an endorsement.
